Independent and Foreign Films

When we rent a movie at Blockbuster we always head to the foreign film section. We try to only rent the ones that have won something at a film festival. You can tell by the olive leaf symbol on the cover. There are some pretty weird ones out there, so you have to be selective. The past few months we've been picking the bad ones. The last two have been turned off within the first 5 minutes.

Tonight we finally found a great one. It's call Arranged. It was a lovely, simple story about two women both from different religious backgrounds and how they found friendship.It gives a peek into the world of the Jewish and Muslim traditions of arranged marriages. The actress' are wonderful and fit their parts perfectly. I was most drawn to the genuine emotions from them. It is a feel good movie that the Bettwieser's Personally recommend. Stephen even enjoyed it.
