Creative Kids and the Messes they Make

Aiden is always making and building things. This week he constructed a hammock out of a bed sheet and the kids have loved it! He was yelling to me to come and see what he made when I found this in his bedroom.

The hammock has been up all week and the kids are always playing in it. I'm happy that they are creative and can entertain themselves.

So when Asher isn't being entertained by Aiden's inventions, he likes to cause havoc. Last night was the perfect example of the havoc he likes to cause. The kids were playing in Macy's bedroom. They were being a little too quiet so I went in to investigate. Asher had a jar of carmax (Vaseline chapstick; very stinky) that he got out of the diaper bag, and he was rubbing it all over his head. It looks like he attacked Macy first with the oily mess and then turned to his own head.

I don't know what it is with him and rubbing things on his hair and body. You don't even want to know what else he's rubbed on his own head. So I put both kids in the tub. I shampooed them twice and the grease was not coming out. I was able to comb the congealed jelly out of his hair a bit, but the reside is not coming out. I guess I'll just have to wait until it wears out. I made Asher wear a snow hat last night so he wouldn't get his oily hair on the couch. YUCK!

They are still looking pretty this morning in their greasy hair. Believe me their hair is not wet, although it looks like it. It is all the vasaline.
Asher just woke up:)

That hammock looks like so much fun. I want to know if you tried it out...

I can't believe the vaseline. I am just waiting for the day when Karston starts to get in to all sorts of trouble.
