Garden Fun

We planted our very first garden this last weekend. We really have no idea what we are doing and I'm sure we planted somethings way too early. Stephen has finals and then the MCAT to study for, so this is the best we can do. We have a nice area in the back of our yard under the apple trees. Yeah, we're a little worried about the shade issue but it was already dirt and there's no use in digging up grass to make a new garden. We're just keeping our fingers crossed that something grows. We've planted 15 different things and we are very excited to reap the benefits this summer. Stephen even set the sprinklers to automatically water every morning because he knows I'll probably forget and kill all of his hard work.

So in honor of our first garden, I took it upon myself to make little name placks for each plant so we know what we planted and where. I envisioned these in my head and I'm very pleased with how they turned out. For once this was all my own idea. I didn't search around the internet and gleam idea's off unsuspecting people. I used sculpey clay that I picked up from my local walmart. I remembered making these cute little Easter pins in young woman's one time with it. I like that you just bake it in your own oven and wah-lah it's done! Aiden helped a lot with making the white circles and cutting the wire to make hooks to hang them on. I am a bit worried that all my writing will smear off with the first watering. I used permanent, so I'll have to fix it when I cross that bridge. The little corn is my favorite!

Now I'm off to start on a gleamed idea for mother's day(so cute and fun, just wait and see) and I have ten cards to make for card club tonight. I'm not coping anything for those so they probaly won't be very cute. I just try and find the best way to get ten cards for less than a dollar each, which is what they usually end up costing.

Those are so cute-I can't get over it. Seriously. I wish I had some of that creative mojo going on-not to mention blackberries growing in my backyard. I hope the growing goes well, if it does you'll have some delicious food this summer.
