My Step-dad is a crime scene detective with the local Sheriff's. It was his birthday last week so we went with my mom to deliver treats for the office. It was our first time to the crime lab and Brian showed us the ropes. (F.Y.I they don't look anything like the crime labs on television.)
First we learned what Marijuana looked and smelled like, then we examined it under a microscope.
We watched him test Crystal meth that was newly acquired and got to see it. I'm pretty naive and had no idea what marijuana or crystal meth looks like. Interestingly enough I did recognize the smell of marajuana from my younger days at concerts.
(this is thousands of dollars worth)Aiden and I also got to see how he dusts for fingerprints and he gave us a card with our fingerprints that he got off a glass jar he had us hold.
Aiden even held a jar that contained a baby shark(dead of course) There were other gross things in jars but I didn't need a picture of those. 
It was fun to see him at work and I think Macy made his day by singing happy birthday to him and running into his arms when we arrived.
