On Saturday morning, Stephen and I left the kids (one throwing up, good timing on our part) and headed up to the Sundance Resort. Stephen's good friend Eric was getting married up there and we decided to get a room and stay over night. Our anniversary is this week so it was great to celebrate at a nice location. 9 YEARS!!

We left early on Saturday and decided to go hiking and to enjoy the mountains until the wedding started. We hiked 4 miles round trip to Stewart Falls and it was a lot of fun. I wish Stephen and I did more hiking. By the way, we don't recommend hiking this particular route on a weekend or holiday. It was Packed! There were people everywhere and you had to listen to their conversations and sometimes you would all be walking in a line. Not my idea of an enjoyable quiet nature hike. The best part was spending time with my hubby without the kids. We stopped at the falls and had a picnic lunch and felt the nice mist that sprayed from the waterfall.

When we were done we headed to check into our room. I was expecting a little more for the $230 we spent to stay at the prestigious Sundance Resort. I guess you pay for the name and location. We have NEVER spent this kind of money on a hotel before and I really don't think it will be necessary to do so in the future. But, it was nice to be located close to all the wedding festivities. The wedding was lovely and I don't think I've ever seen a bride with a bigger smile. There was dinner and dancing that followed and it was a nice evening.

We had a private deck where the river ran beside us. There was a kitchen and a small full size bed. (I need my King) We had a fireplace and a little living room and of course robes to wear. I've never stayed in a place that lets you wear robes:)
We are now home to screaming children and vomit and wishing for one more day of relaxation!
