Second Grade Here I Come

Aiden and Ms. Birrell

What a program! It was over an hour of singing, speaking parts, and slide shows. The kids were very impressive and I only got teary eyed once. I just felt so much love for such a little person. He just beams with happiness and pride and I just love being his mom. Sure we have our hard patches. It seems a bit early for us to already be arguing, (I'm not excited for the teenage years) but Aiden is no ordinary 7 year old. He's wise for his years, and with his height could pass for someone older. He know what he wants, he knows how to achieve it and you better know what you are talking about or you will quickly be corrected. (He's so much like his father) He idolizes Stephen and always confides in him. It's so good for a young boy to have such a good relationship with his dad. I love that even though Aiden thinks he's 12, he's still not too big to crawl into bed with me in the morning to cuddle.
I loved volunteering in Aiden's class this year. He was never embarrassed of me and even gave me hugs and kisses in front of his friends. I hope this never changes. My mom is always joking with him, that he can't ever get too old to hold her hand. Even when he's 16 and has a girlfriend he better still hold her hand. I too hope he always wants to be close to me and to confide in me and to be friends with me. I can't believe he's going to second grade.
