The Traditional Picture
I've had a great week planning Macy's third birthday. She wanted a princess spider party and all I could think of was to make spider cupcakes that have a tiara on. They didn't turn out like I had pictured in my head. I was getting quite frustrated with those darn legs, they didn't want to stick on for anything. Oh well, Macy was happy and thought they looked great. I personally think they look like chickens. You should see the ones without legs, they really are chickens.

I started the long cupcake making process while up at the farm for a visit. Stephen was gone for the whole week and it was a good excuse to get out of town and have a change of scenery. I sure got a lot of slack from my dad about all the work I was putting into a cupcake. All I can say, is this is just me. I love being creative and I don't mind putting in the hours as long as it's for my kids and I know it will make them happy. He was coaching me on how to just say no, but I guess I'm a softy. If my daughter wants a spider princess party than that is what she will get. We had a great visit up to the farm and the boys were in heaven. Dad has been working a lot on his yard and it looks really great. He has quite the talent at landscape design. I should have him stop by and give me some pointers:)
We had a little party for Macy in Idaho. We had cupcakes and dad and Cindy got Macy a cute puppy doctor kit. She loves it!

Yesterday for the party I got to decorate the house in Pink-I love having a little girl!

First we played a game in the giant spider web in the back yard.

I think the boys and I had more fun setting it up then the kids did following their strand to a prize. All the adults ended up winding the string while the kids waited for the trail to end. It was fun anyway. We enjoyed pizza, icecream and cupcakes and then Macy opened her presents. She got some great gifts and especially loved the little doll house Grandma Bettwieser hand painted for her and the little things that go inside from Aunt Summer.

And of course, the princess shoes from my mom. All the cousins ended up putting on a pair and strutting around the house in parade fashion. Asher sure looked cute in high heals and a skirt.

I can't believe my little girl is so big. She's a little spit-fire and a ball of energy, but oh so fun! Happy 3rd Birthday Macy!
