Our newest family member...

I never thought I would say that we are adding a dog to our family. I think dogs are OK. I'm not really a super dog person, but my mom has dogs and I don't mind being around them. Well about a week ago Stephen said he wanted to get a dog. WHAT!? Do I not know my husband at all! Well I've been baby hungry and this seems like a good solution for that, so I agreed. We spent lots of hours searching out the best bread for our family. We knew we didn't just want any dog seeing as we aren't "dog people." Here is the criteria we were looking for. Non aggressive, good with kids, low shedding, sweet temperament, not a hunting dog (who chases after every smell) and one that only comes up to Stephen's knee. Well there are all sorts of online quizzes to help you pick the perfect dog, and most of them are bunk. But when an Australian Labradoodle came to the top of the list on one website, I did some more research.

This seemed like a good fit for us, even though I think she is going to be BIG. So we found this timid shy little girl living in Holladay and drove out to meet her. She has the CUTEST face I've ever seen and although I would have preferred a house trained older dog, I couldn't resist her!

We picked her up this morning and she was very calm and timid all day. She slept a lot and then at about 7 pm her real personality came out. She was running around and playing fetch, jumping up to get the ball and having a grand old time.

We are excited for this new permanent member of our family and we decided to name her Maggie after her mom. Also because Macy wanted a dog with the same first letter as her because Aiden and Asher are both A's. We had to talk Asher into the name Maggie, he was hoping for her name to be Maple, but I just couldn't picture it.

I'm hoping tonight goes well. I've heard horror stories about crying puppy's all night! I guess I did want a baby, now I've got one.

Love that face! She looks like a perfect fit to your family. I love 'doodle' breeds, i want to get a goldendoodle once Cory gives the ok (which probably won't be til S and J are in school). Good luck with potty training!
