Happy Birthday Honey!

Stephen turned 32 on Saturday. He had already opened his presents so the day wasn't feeling that special. I wanted him to know we love him and that we're excited for his birthday so we threw him a party.

A little surprise party with just me and the kids. Luckily Stephen wanted to go mountain biking so that gave me time to pull it all together. I made him a chocolate cake and the boys made him a birthday banner. We decorated the house and Aiden made him a light-brite picture.



It turned out to be a great surprise party. We've never done a party with just our family, it's usually the whole sha-bang with tons of relatives. It gave me a glimpse into Medical School life (if we were to move out of state.) I actually enjoyed the quiet calm party. It felt more intimate. That's not to say I don't love an all out bash too. Stephen's birthday will be the best occasion for a more intimate party, seeing as he doesn't really like large groups of people. We'll have to continue the tradition.

I just want Stephen to know how much I love him. He works so hard for our family and the pressure he's under and deals with, is a testament of how much he cares for all of us. He's a great father and husband (hey, he even went to Twilight with me, and Liked it!) He tries to make time for each of us whenever he can squeeze us in. I love when he has "talks" with Asher and when he reads with Aiden. I can't even get mad that it's way past Aiden's bedtime when they are reading, because it's just so wonderful to see them together. He loves his little girl so much and gives her hugs and kisses whenever she needs them. I even feel of his love and caring when he calls between classes to check in with me and see how my day is going. He's a great man!
