So I think I want to become a Mountain Biker. Nothing too hard core, but I would love to have something in common with my husband.
Luckily I do own a mountain bike, though I haven't ridden it since Stephen bought it for me when we were first married. At that time I hated it! The seat hurt, leaning forward hurt and I never rode it again.
Well since then I have gotten a beach cruiser. It has high handle bars and a huge seat. I love riding it! I never thought I would love to ride a bike, but I have found out that I do enjoy it. I think I'm getting pretty strong having to pull 65 lbs behind me where ever I go. (Macy and Asher in the bike trailer) I keep thinking if I can do that then surely I can attempt more. I also want to try road biking, but I'm fearful of getting hit by a car. I know if I lived out in the country I would have picked up road biking by now, but here I'm a bit worried.
So my husband goes on these great adventures and I never go because I am not adventurous. I'm so worried about getting hurt. I say it's time to enjoy my life. He seems to, so why not me?
So here it goes, I have one year to get in shape and learn the skills necessary to mountain bike, so I can go on the White Rim 100 mile bike trip next spring. I think Stephen would really enjoy having me come on some of his adventures. He mentions how some of the other husbands bring their wives and he hopes that someday he can bring me.
Now that I've voiced my goal, perhaps it will be easier to accomplish. Keep nagging me!
