We had a busy day yesterday. After Aiden got home from school he really wanted to go to his Kindergarten Teacher's Farwell party. Mrs. Flannery is retiring from teaching, and I'm sad to see such a wonderful teacher go. I'm mostly sad that Asher and Macy won't have the chance to experience teaching at its finest. So we stoped by the school and said hello. She said how much she's enjoyed having Aiden in her class and that she has recommended him for a first-second grade split class next year. She said this was for those smart students that were mature and independent learners so they could study some harder curriculum. She doesn't know if he will get that class, but she hoped it was ok with me that she recommended him.
After visiting Mrs. Flannery we headed to Classic skating. Stephen works there on Fridays and it's always fun to go and visit him. I had a lot of fun climbing around the big "jungle" with Macy. She's gotten a lot braver and is more willing to try new things.
She loved the bouncy toys as well. She's quite the little climber and could climb to the top and slide down all by herself.
At 4:45 we left and headed to Orem to visit stephen's mom, leslie. She was having a recital for her violin students and we decided to go and watch. It was a fun evening and I was very impressed with how many people were there. I knew she taught full time Violin and Viola lessons, but I never actually pictured how many students that would be. She had her own little symphony! The kids did great. I think Aiden was getting excited about starting his own instrument.
How would that look if Leslie's own grandson never played a musical instrument? We better get our kids on track. We want to start out with piano, but we haven't found one to purchase yet. My new sister in law Megan plays the piano and said she would be happy to teach Aiden. How lucky are we?! We just need to get it started.
After the recital we went over to leslie's for Ice cream sundays. It was a fun evening and I think we need to make a better effort to get out and visit her more often. She's such a fun mom and grandma.
