Mother's Day

What a wonderful day! My family was oh, so very sweet to me today. I woke to breakfast in bed. Strawberry and whipped cream crepes with kiwi, oranges and banana arranged beautifully on the plate. It was a creation I should have taken a picture of. Then Aiden presented me with a handmade gift from school. A ceramic candy dish that he made himself. He attached a great card that said all sorts of fun stuff about me. . .
It said:
Age 27
weight 200 lbs
cooks the best eggs.
She doesn't like to clean
She likes to watch the weather channel
Favorite thing is to play games with us.
She is the best mom because she has beautiful brown eyes!

My favorite part is that she hates to clean. He really does know me!

Stephen wrote me a wonderful card full of sweet and kind thoughts about me as a mother. All I asked for mothers day is to get a card and have my car cleaned out. What a wonderful husband to do all that I wanted.

We had a nice time at church with the kids singing to me. Actually Asher wasn't interested in going up on the stand but I know he was thinking the words to the songs in his head.

Later tonight we had a family party at our house. We had all the husbands make the desserts and we played games in the backyard. There was a great game of baseball(with a wiffle ball) going on and it was a lot of fun. I was the pitcher and got hit straight in the face by Uncle Mark. Let's just say I couldn't feel my chin for about an hour. Luckily I didn't cry.

I sure love having fun with my family. We are a very active family and always have a great time at our family parties. The little kids played too and they were surprisingly good. Especially little River. Boy can he hit and run. He'll be the athlete of the Bettwieser family!

The desserts were so yummy. I even requested an apple crisp from Stephen, but it was all gone by the time I made it in for more treats. I got a lick of the bowl and it tasted yummy.

I am so grateful to have had such a wonderful day. I love my children so very much and I love being a mom to them. I know that it's not always fun to be a mom, but it's definitely my calling in life. I'm trying my best and even though I yell and they make me frustrated and mad at times, they bring me so much joy. Who would have thought a little child could bring you so much happiness and contentment. They are wonderful kids and they amaze me everyday by what they say and do. I love watching them grow and develop into their personalities.

Aiden is just such a smart and opinionated kid. He reminds me so much of Stephen. I never guessed a six year old would be telling me what clothes he wants to buy and what music he wants to listen to. He's wise beyond his years and I have to constantly remind him that he's six and he needs to just be a kid. He needs to stop growing up on me. He loves to ride his bike and play with friends.

Asher is our little Bracken. He reminds me so much of my brother. He just goes with the flow and has this surfer-boy attitude. He loves to make messes and take things apart. He says the funniest things and can always make you laugh. He gets away with a lot more than he should with his adorable face and big blue eyes. He also has a very sensitive side and is often in tears. If he's not the first to answer the telephone when it rings I better just give up talking. I won't be able to even hear the conversation over his crying. He loves to read books, watch cartoons and go to preschool.

Macy is our little firecracker. She has a mighty temper and the cutest curls. She talks constantly and does everything her brothers do. She's not afraid of much and I often find her doing things she shouldn't. She loves to have her hair done and absolutely LOVES shoes. She likes dolls, purses and blankets. She usually insists on taking a blanket on all of our errands. She has the cutest buck teeth and big blue eyes. She likes to jump on the trampoline and have imaginary phone conversations with her uncle chase. I love when she gives kisses and cuddles with me at night. She's such a fun girl!

Now you know why I love being a mom so much.
