We had three stations where the kids could play and make things that the pioneer children would have done. They played games in the gym, made cloth dolls for the girls and beaded bandanna's for the boys. Then in the kitchen they made fry bread. After all the stations they lined up and walked around the church singing, "pioneer children sang as the walked, and walked and walked." Then we all met on the front lawn for ice cream.
The kids were well behaved and I only had one tantrum. All of us leaders dressed up as pioneers. I was joking, that I didn't know how any woman would find a husband dressed like this:) I felt very unattractive! Luckily everything went off without a hitch and we had a very enjoyable afternoon. I took lots of pictures and I am going to make a display in the foyer of all of our fun.

Our next activity is already in the works. The last presidency was working on buying supplies for a service activity; making school kits. I was at Walmart the other day and noticed the colored pencils were on sale for .75 cents. We need 72 boxes for our school kits so I began loading up the cart. As I was doing so, a woman came over to ask me if I was a school teacher. When I told her what they were for, she insisted on donating to the cause. I didn't know what to do. Should I just take her money? I told her that I had no way of giving her tax credit for her donation and that she could just donated to her local ward. She told me how she never had any of her own children and so never had to buy school supplies. She really wanted to give me twenty dollars and finally insisted on me not taking away her blessings by refusing her money. So I took that kind ladies money and it greatly helped toward the purchase of the colored pencils. I am really amazed at the kindness of strangers.

Anisha, you probably don't even remember who I am but I used to work at Classic with Allie and Josie. I am friends of theirs and I even came to your house in Sugarhouse once or twice when we were all hanging out with Jacob South! How's that for a trip down Memory Lane? Anyways, I came across your blog and I just wanted to say hi. Plus, I think that lady who donated money to your pencil fund was extremely nice, who does stuff like that anymore? So sweet. I have a blog too but it's private so email me at jasonandtawni@gmail.com and I will send you an invitation.
Hope all is well, please say hi to Steve for me!
