Farm Fun

We are home from our week of playing farmer! Aiden has been begging to go to the farm for months. He loves it there! We headed up to Willow Flat Campground the first two days. Dad and Cindy pulled their trailer up and let Grandma stay there with us. The boys built fires with my dad, and learned how to make fire with "boyscout water" NOT SAFE! Stephen kept reminding Aiden that soaking logs with gasoline is not something he should ever get the idea to do. The boys thought the fire ball was great!

We went on a couple of hikes and played by the river. You can hike up to the spring where the river starts(it comes right out of the mountain side) and drink the water. Aiden thought that was the greatest and filled his water bottle up with the freezing cold water. I was secretly worried that everyone would be sick the rest of the time, but I was a good sport and had a little taste. Luckily everyone is healthy.

The end of July is the annual Preston Parade and Rodeo that we never miss. We knew this would be a fun week to visit the farm with all the festivities going on. Everyone kept us so entertained! We went to the Logan water park, boating, to parades, carnivals, rodeo's and even rode horses. I love spending time with my Moser family. I also love that my kids and husband love going there.

Stephen helped my dad early one morning when he was cutting hay. Paige (my sister) drove Asher, Macy and me out to the field to watch the progress.
I had a great time with Paige and it was fun to get to know her a bit better. Stephen was joking with me and said, "call off the med school's, I'm going to be a farmer!" I think he really does love the country life. As a child I always said I would hate to live in a place like Whitney Idaho. I thought it would be so boring. Now as an adult, I've come to appreciate the country. I love the space, the quiet, no close neighbors. I can truly picture us living in a small community someday. I would love a house like on Twilight out in the woods with all glass windows, connected to nature. I'll just have to wait and see, that's probably 20 years from now.

Saturday was the big Preston Parade. My grandpa Moser is on the Dairy Board for Idaho and he arranges for a big truck to come to the parade and pass out milk chugs, go-gurts, and string cheese. A lot of my family ride in the parade handing out the milk. Aiden was finally old enough last year to help and was so excited to do it again this year. He sure looks cute all sweaty and busy working!

We handed the kids off to a babysitter and went over to the fair grounds for the "Famous Preston Night Rodeo". This rodeo is the first in the United States to hold a rodeo under lights. Stephen's mom drove up for the day and went to all the festivities with us. I think she had a fun time and we hope she will want to come with us again and bring all the cousins. We had great seat for the rodeo and it is sure fun when all the big bucking horses and bulls come right up to the fence. They look so much bigger up close. It really makes you wonder why someone would volunteer to sit on the back of one of these huge animals.

We have been going to the Preston Parade and Rodeo for 8 years now and hope to keep it a tradition always.
