We had a great Fourth of July this year. I was in charge of saving spots for the parade this year. Usually my mom is the kind one and goes and sets up the chairs and sits out there for a couple of hours the night before to save our spots. The city rule is that you can't set chairs up before 6pm, but if you are sitting in them you can set them up as early as you'd like. I went over at about 4:30. I took a good book and actually enjoyed my hour and a half of silence. The parade goes right past our house and we are the meeting and parking spot for all of the family. We enjoyed the parade and then came back to our house for breakfast. Stephen spent the rest of the holiday working on the back deck and staining it. I got to relax in the shade, take a little nap and play with the kids. It was a nice day off, at least for me. We watched the city fireworks from our back yard and the kids stayed up way too late all weekend.
