Dinosaur Train

The party theme this year was Dinosaur Train. A very cute PBS Kids Cartoon. I made up these invitations and we hosted 9 or so families at Classic Skating. The kids played on all the equipment, partied in their private party room and played video games galore!

We didn't even leave until 10 pm! It was fun having all the families come instead of just dropping of the birthday guest. Luckily Asher is friends with all of our friends children so we had just as much fun as he did. We were also surprised when my dad and Cindy drove down from Idaho just to surprise Asher at his party. He will always remember this as the party where grandpa gave him five birthday spankings and he was very confused as to what was happening.

Here is my try at a Dinosaur Train cake. We bought all the little characters to go on top and then I shaped the train (from the cartoon) out of fondant and stuck it on the side. Don't let my photoshop tricks fool you. It was actually all cracked and yucky looking after sitting for a day, but hey, he's five and couldn't care less.
