First of all...look at this handsome boy! He started out big (9lb 30z) and is still big. He's 80 pounds, wears size 7 shoes (mens), and size 10 clothes and he's only EIGHT! He's the tallest in 2nd grade and smart as a whip!
We just had parent teacher conference and Aiden is doing so well this year. He's testing above grade level most subjects and is even up to grade 3.5 in math. His teacher wants him to test for the Spectrum class next year! (gifted and talented class) Of course we at home already know how smart this boy thinks he is! He's very opinionated, ALWAYS right, and just too smart for his own good!
Aiden is just like his dad in so many ways. He loves to figure out how things work, fix things, run sound systems and projectors, and ride his bike. What more could a father want in a first born! Stephen and Aiden have so much in common that they have a very special bond. One that I'm quite jealous of at times. Aiden will talk to Stephen about everything, he will sit out in the garage at all hours helping dad work on projects, he mows the lawn every week to help out when Stephen's at school and just loves to spend time with him. I think he just sees me as the bossy mean mom. The one who tells him to do his homework, and clean up his room, and practice his piano, and to go to bed! I'm just hoping he will want to be my friend someday:)
Aiden has just started scouts. He LOVES it! Stephen is his den leader. He looks so very handsome in his uniform. He's a pretty funny kid because he jokes the only reason he goes to church is so he can be in scouts. (I don't think I'll tell him that's not a requirement)
Right now Aiden's interests are; Lego's, Scouts, biking, The Whimpy Kid book series, motorcycles (he and Stephen have been fixing one up this fall) going to the farm, and playing with his friends.
He takes piano lessons and HATES to practice. Luckily for him, he just memorizes the piece after playing it through a couple of times and can fool his teacher into thinking he's great at practicing. His teacher says he has great rhythm and hopes that he sticks with piano because he could be really good. We keep joking that he needs to learn piano because all the girls with LOVE it someday!
I couldn't ask for a better helper than Aiden. He's sure going to be handy to have around the house when Stephen is in med school. He's wise and mature beyond his years. He often plays with older kids and is right on their level. I can't believe its been 8 years now.
On his birthday morning he crawled into bed with me and I told him all about the day he was born. When I told him that my contractions were very painful and I was crying, he didn't want to hear anymore :) I just skipped to my favorite thing that happened on that day. After he was born the doctor was just amazed at how big he was. They placed him on the scale to see his weight, and he reached over with his grubby little hands, grabbed the glass on the side and pulled himself up like he was peeking over the edge. We were all amazed at him then and are still amazed at him today!
Happy Birthday my sweet eight year old!

aww Happy Birthday Aiden! Anisha you seem like the best mom- don't forget that he's so great because of what YOU"VE taught him too!
I loved reading all about him. I'm glad you bragged. It gave me a new perspective about all that my kids will become and do in just a few years- it's overwhelming to think of all I have to still teach, but also exciting to think of the experiences we'll have
You're such a sweet family
