San Francisco

Luckily I have wonderful friends and family who are so sweet to me that I could pick up and go to San Francisco on a days notice. My friend Stefani has a pilot for a husband and she just happened to have 2 buddy passes that were about to expire. She kindly offered them to me and the next day Asher and I were flying to California. (Let's not forget the wonderful mother and mother-in-law who could babysit at a whims notice, Thank you!)

I decided to take Asher because my best friend from high school, Becky, has a little boy the same age. Since we would be taking him everywhere with us, why not bring a buddy to entertain him too. Asher was very excited to fly on the airplane and it was such a fun thing that I could do with just him.

So, sweet Becky picked us up at the airport and let us crash in her front room for two nights. She lives just outside of San Francisco. Here is the view driving over the Golden Gate Bridge Friday morning.

Our first stop was pier 39. We climbed on statues and saw the sea lions. (The very Stinky sea lions!)

Then we had Crapes and hot chocolate! So yummy!

While we waited for our boat tour we took a look at the old wartime ships and submarines.

Our boat tour brought us over to the golden gate bridge and Alcatraz Island. The boys loved wearing the earphones that told about historic San Francisco. They would get so excited when they heard a word they liked that they would yell it out, not knowing how loud they were speaking. We would just be going along and then random words like, "FIRE" would be shouted out of their little mouths. They are pretty cute!

The boys loved the crabs
and we had to make a stop in the Boudin Sourdough Bread store. Asher got this cute little turtle and I bought a larger loaf shaped like a teddy bear to bring home.

We bought tickets for the trolley and headed up into the main shopping district. We went to lunch, where the boys found window seats to entertain themselves. Then we stopped into H & M. A huge clothing store that had so many cute little girl clothes that I couldn't resist! Macy will have a nice Christmas!
We took a self portrait.

By the end of the day, we jammed ourselves back on the trolley and headed back to the wharf. The boys were worn out so we hired a rickshaw to drive us back to Becky's car. It was worth every penny!

Thank you Becky, Parker and Ryan for a fun adventure in San Francisco. I know Asher and I will never forget what a fun time we had!
