She tells of the funny story of when he first received the motorcycle. He was just a young thing, I think around 11 or 12. His sister, my aunt Amanda decided to take the motorcycle for a joy ride one afternoon. She came back to the house looking terrified because she had crashed the new motorcycle into the creek. She was so worried that Hoss would be mad at her, so she and grandma strung the hair dryer out to the backyard and dried the engine out before he got home.
I'm sure there are many more wonderful stories associated with this little motorbike, and now we can add ours too.
Stephen wanted to see if he could get it running again with the promise that it would be brought right back to the farm. Stephen and Aiden spent many hours working in the garage, ordering parts and putting the motorcycle back together. It was a night of celebration when it ran for the first time. Aiden was in bed and it was about 10:30pm. I heard a roar from the garage and went to investigate. He was out joyriding down the street, and I will tell you, this is NOT a quiet bike. He was so excited he had to call my dad to tell him the good news. Grandma and Grandpa were also excited to hear that is was finally running after so many years.

The motorcycle had plans to return to the farm right away, but we never found a good time to take it. So when Grandma and Grandpa came down for a visit and saw Stephen and Aiden riding around the neighborhood and saw how happy they were, grandma gave permission for it to stay in Centerville until it was time for us to move.
Today was the first time Aiden has really driven it by himself. He's a very responsible kid when it comes to engines. He had been driving the "mule" (a John Deere four wheeled vehicle) up on the farm for a couple of years now. He mows the lawn on our riding lawn mower and now he can add riding motorcycles to his repertoire.
